Soil types are often a subjective interpretation of what a soil is. Numerical classes eliminate bias that otherwise hinders mapping and interpretation
Currently, only in South Africa but we will be testing it in other nations
This is geared towards environmentalists such as hydrologist and for pedologists. Numerical classes are more difficult to intepret but give more detailed information on what the soil is. What we have done so far can be found at https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S034181622100401X?via%3Dihub.
We are currently mapping South Africa with this system, which will be submitted to a journal soon.
